Overwhelming demand from fans has led Monster Energy Australia to announce a further and final run of free tickets to the September 3 Ken Block Gymkhana World Tour event at Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway.
6000 free tickets were secured in less than 5 hours last week, and upon a personal request from the viral video superstar, an additional 1000 will be released via ticketmaster.com.au at 9am on Monday July 18.
A successful opening stop of the tour in Austria prompted the Rally ace to request the release of extra tickets, ensuring as many fans as possible are able to attend witness the September 3 spectacle.
Block, who is currently filming the highly anticipated Gymkhana 4 video clip, said he was blown away by the public interest in the tour.
“Gymkhana World Tour Austria was dope!” Block said. “The crowd turnout over in Vienna was huge and much more than we anticipated. Everyone really enjoyed the show and I was stoked with the course that we had going there. I’m definitely amped up for the next two stops.
“When I heard how quickly the tickets for World Tour Australia sold out, I made a few calls and managed to free up 1000 extra tickets, just so that anyone that missed out on the initial batch has a second chance to score some.
“Australia is one of the mecca’s of hooning, so I’m really looking forward to getting down there for the final stop of my Gymkhana World Tour because I know the Aussie fans will appreciate the tyre smoke in their faces. Plus, with the layout of this event, the fans will be right on top of all the action,” he concluded.
